So today we had so much fun! We got a little bit of a late start, but we made it there on time. One of my favorite parts about the ride to Candia, two third grade boys and one fourth grade boy, in the back seat of my car, singing Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love. I called back and said, "Do you mind if I turn this up a little? I love this song." They replied, "Yeah." Apparently they all loved it too. They had their DS and PSP's going as they sang in a high pitched voice, "KEEP BLEEDING, KEEP KEEP BLEEDING LOVE!" I had to smile. It was so darn cute. Then, they got on a whole new track and were making motions to the cars that would go by. One boy yelled up to me, "Ms. Mullins, be careful because they might ram us!" I had to laugh!
The farm was cool. I loved the reindeer's antlers, they were just beautiful. We saw 3 new lynx kitties, 3 silly pigs, many momma and baby goats, 2 shining black bears, baby lambs, trumpeter swans, tons of horses and cows, a camel, porcupine, wolverine, wolves, mountain lion, owls, hawks, ducks, oxen, and ummm.....foxes. The weather was gorgeous! We took a tractor ride, a hayride, and some of the kiddos rode on a pony. We ate lunch, checked out the gift shop, and then went to Puritan's for ice-cream. Yum! I would re-do that day in a heartbeat, although we were 20 minutes late getting home! Oops!!
Tomorrow is a normal day, well for the 6 1/2 day mark, and tomorrow is field day at Otter Brook!! I get to lead the kiddos in badminton! Wooo! Super fun.

Record Breaking Day
In 1984 the temperature in Keene rose to a scorching 94 degrees. Today... 97! Today was a super hot day. Schools in CT and MA were canceled due to the heat. NH, however, went to school and merely escaped melting! We had our curtains pulled, the lights off, the door closed, and one lone fan moving some air around. Poor kiddos were so hot. Never before have then been so well behaved though!!!
On my way to school today, I pulled off of Rt 9 and stopped at the stop sign. As I went to turn, I had to wait and let a duck and her 7 little ducklings pass by. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Yup, that is right. EVER! Mommy duck was going so fast and her little ones could barely keep up. I tried to pull out my camera phone, but they were too quick for me. They made it across the street and down the hill in no time! Too cute!! : )
Tomorrow we are off to the Charmingfare Farm for the day. It should be another hot one, but I guess the humidity should be better. We are petting some farm animals, walking on some hiking trails, taking pony rides, and eating some ice-cream. It is going to be so much fun! I can't wait.
Things are still pretty hectic! I am counting down the days until I can RELAX! Whew!

Sad News
It is with deep sadness that I am posting this blog tonight. Katie's mother and best friend, Jane Shea passed away this morning at Franklin Medical Center. I speak for so many when I send Katie and her family my deepest sympathies, sincere thoughts of love and support, as well as all the hugs I can imagine. Katie, I love you and I am so sorry for this loss.
Another reminder to all that life is way to short and it can change in an instant. Love everyday, all day. I love all of you and I am so thankful to have you in my life.

Counting Down the Days
As of right now, I only have 11 1/2 days left to teach my 3rd and 4th graders for the year. Wow! Where did time go? Things are super hectic! This week is spirit week at school. Monday the kiddos were allowed to chew gum during the day, yesterday we wore our PJ's, and today was twin day. Tina was my twin! Tomorrow is crazy hair/80's day and Friday is beach day. It is pretty fun! The kiddos really get into it.
I have been busy completing my self-evaluation for the year, grading like a mad woman, and getting my narratives done for the report cards. In the classroom the kiddos have been taking their end of year assessments and organizing their portfolios. They too are practicing their skills writing a self-evaluation. It is so hectic!
On Friday, our school is headed to Otter Brook to celebrate field day. It is such a pretty area and the kiddos get the chance to swim all afternoon. It is so cool! Saturday I am going bowling with my 4th graders as our last hurrah together. That is always a fun time. Sunday is my cousins graduation party, Monday I have my portfolio conferences with students and parents, Wednesday we are going to Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH, and it just goes on and on! So, hopefully you know why I am not posting as often. I am a little swamped! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and fabulous weekend!!! Love ya!

My Little "Sister" Graduated
On Friday night I went over to my alma mater and watched my neighbor, Danielle, graduate from high school. It was 9 years ago that I was on that very stage, getting my diploma! Woah! I met Danie when she was a little girl running around in diapers. I was her babysitter for 8 years! She is like a little sister to me. It was so surreal. In any case, Danie is off to beauty school in the fall to work her magic with hair, make-up, and nails. Congrats Danie! I am very proud of you!! Love, hugs, and kisses!
